Paul says in chapter 1, verse 16, "For this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth." This should be our number 1 goal in life. I believe this would be a good thesis statement for the book of 1 Timothy.
Paul goes on to say "I will that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands without wrath or doubting." This is a challenge for increased faith in my life.
And finally, even though we are told, "whatsoever our hand finds to do, do it with all our might (Ecclesiastes 9:10)," Paul warns us in the last chapter, "but they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare (1 Timothy 6:9)." "For the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Tim 6:10)."
I hope to implement these truths so that Jesus Christ might show forth in my life.
